MOJO’s LONDON LIVE OPENS ANOTHER HIGH-DEFINITION MUSIC SEASON THIS FALL WITH ROCKING NEW HOST SARA COX
Fergie, Rufus Wainwright, Maroon 5, Groove Armada, Air, Editors, Kings Of Leon and Kanye West Among the Bands Set For Third Season Starting in October
NEW YORK - August 28, 2007- On Friday, October 26 London Live, the musical jewel of the MOJO channel’s lineup, will kick-start its third season of high-intensity concerts from the Koko Club in London with ten new eclectic episodes. This year, celebrated BBC1 radio and television British personality Sara Cox joins the series as host. Just a few of the acts to be featured this season include Fergie, Maroon 5, Rufus Wainwright, Feist, Mark Ronson, The Enemy, Bloc Party, Groove Armada, Air (featuring Charlotte Gainsbourg), Editors, Kanye West and Kings of Leon (more to be announced). London Live is the compact hi-def 30-minute concert blast containing the most rousing performers in the world in groundbreaking state-of-the-art high definition, 1080i picture and 5.1 sound. The series airs every Friday at 9PM and midnight ET.
About London Live’s new host Sara Cox: Sara, affectionately known as “Coxy,” has appeared on both British television and radio. She first appeared on television in 1994 on The Girlie Show and later was the face of the UK feed of MTV, hosting MTV Hot, a late night music show. She also hosted The Big Breakfast, a famous UK morning show where she interviewed stars like Sting, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robbie Williams. In 1999, she joined BBC Radio 1 where she hosted Saturday lunch time and then the Sunday surgery segment with Dr. Mark Hamilton. She later went on to host BBC Radio 1’s Monday-Friday breakfast slot, considered one of the best radio shows for young people and ultimately moved to afternoon drive time. In 2005, she moved to the afternoon show on Saturdays and Sundays, where she still hosts in addition to her London Live responsibilities.
London Live leads off “MOJO Music Night” every Friday.“MOJO Music Night” also features a variety of full-length concerts with headliners such as Coldplay, David Bowie and REM (Isle Of Wight concerts), Rush (30th Anniversary World Tour), Oasis, Decades Rock Live: The Pretenders, Kaiser Chiefs (Live At The Fillmore), Korn (Live On The Other Side), The Killers and The Charlatans (London Live specials).
Also, London Live’s production company, 3DD Productions, will create a presence on Linden Lab’s “Second Life” virtual world site where fans will be able to pick up TV sets containing the TV network Virtual.Life.TV and watch an entire channel dedicated to the series. London Live is the first music series to appear on Virtual.Life.TV which comes courtesy of Second Life creative agency Rivers Run Red.
London Live is the key music series in a slate of original HD programming on MOJO. Other series include After Hours with Daniel hosted by Chef Daniel Boulud, Dr. Danger with Dr. Bob Arnot, Three Sheets with comedian Zane Lamprey and I Bet You with poker champions Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari.
