In Portugal, Zane does some exploring of his own. After a visit to the famous Sandeman Winery and a hearty meal of tripe (for which he gets a medal), Zane heads off for some good old-fashioned bar hopping amongst the wild nightlife of Portugal. And the night doesn’t end there. Soon, our illustrious guide finds himself cozying up to a bar where the brandy is cherry and the shots are mysterious. Portugal is one of the oldest countries in all of Europe. Outstanding monuments, castles and churches stand along side futuristic new buildings and technologies. Known for its Port wine and even though other countries produce it, under European Union guidelines, only the product from Portugal may be labeled as Port. They are also well known beer producers, with the most popular brand, Super Bock, winning an unprecedented 15 consecutive gold medals in the "Monde Selection de la Qualite". From the snobbiest sommelier to any beer-swilling local, Portugal is one country that has something for everyone.
