If Wolfmother ever attended rock school, they'd have sat behind Jack White, been taught by professor Zeppelin and passed the Black Sabbath class with honors. Word has it, Wolfmother are currently blowing other more established bands right off the stage. Comprised of lead guitar and vocalist Andrew Stockdale (who sounds like a young Robert Plant) drummer Myles Heskett, and bassist/keyboardist Chris Ross, Wolfmother are talented, glamorous and Aussie. The debut album by the trio from Sydney was produced by D. Sardy, who has previously worked with the Dandy Warhols and Oasis, and attempts to capture "the perfect feeling" rather than a "faultless performance". It includes the furious "Colossal" and an epic 8 minute long version of their celebrated song "White Unicorn". Rather than merely mimicking their obvious inspirations, Wolfmother offer a raw and infectious tribute. Trust, you'll be dusting off your skinny-fit trousers and hiring a copy of Spinal Tap in no time. Word has it, Wolfmother are currently blowing other more established bands right off the stage.
