Odd that The Rifles' front man Joel Stoker has the same initials as Joe Strummer, one expects he has a shrine to The Clash front man too. Formed only two years ago, The Rifles have already bagged two top 40 hits with "Local Boy" and "Repeated Offender", toured alongside Graham Coxon, Madness and Dirty Pretty Things and are being heralded by industry types such as Zane Lowe and Oasis founder Alan Mcgee. They are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album which is being produced by the legendary Ian Broudie, and with their off-beat rhythms and cockney sensibilities don't be surprised to hear oodles of 'Two-tone' tunes across the air waves in months to come. In short, you'd be foolish not to look out for Joel Stoker (vocals / guitar), Luke Crowther (guitar) Robb Pyne (bass) and Grant Marsh (drums) because they sound more like The Specials than The Specials and they're gaining friends fast.
