Perhaps the most celebrated act to come out of Vegas since Siegfried and Roy, The Killers' mash of retro new wave synth and blazing guitars propelled their 2004 debut, Hot Fuss platinum and garnered the band five Grammy ® nominations. The album's first single, "Somebody Told Me" soared up the UK charts, followed by "Mr. Brightside," another top 10 hit. Described as "the best British band to come out of America," The Killers were originally signed to the London-based indie, Lizard King Records, before Island Records released Hot Fuss stateside. The band's charismatic front man Brandon Flowers has even been known to sing in a faux British accent. Following a breakthrough performance at 2005's Glastonbury Festival, The Killers nabbed an opening spot on U2's Vertigo Tour and an invitation to perform at London's Live 8 festival. Hot off the heels of Hot Fuss, they released the follow-up, Sam's Town in October of 2006.
