The Automatic

Editors

Indeed, it was only in May 2005 that the four teenagers from the small Welsh village of Cowbridge went into a studio to record demo versions of their songs "Monster" and "Rats" with producer Richard Jackson - songs which would in turn catch the ear of independent label B-Unique Records. Then in October 2005 the band went on the road with The Ordinary Boys and Hard-Fi while their debut single "Recover" started to win fans across the board. Stopping only briefly on Christmas Day the band then set about recording their debut album with Richard Jackson - of 60ft Dolls, Crashland and Super Furry Animals fame - and Steve Harris who had previously worked with U2 and the Kaiser Chiefs. This CD adheres to a strict "no ballads" blueprint.
