Oft bracketed alongside Coldplay, the only tangible things Snow Patrol have in common is an affection for melody and a cold sounding name. The lyrical brilliance of Gary Lightbody, not to mention the bands original fusion of beats, samples and guitars produced by Jacknife Lee on 2004's "Final Straw" set them apart from bands like Coldplay, Elbow and Keane and put them firmly on the map of Scots-Irish music.
Fans who were eagerly awaiting the release of their latest offering "Eyes Open" - which came out in May this year - were treated to a full length preview on the bands site snowpatrol.com. But we suggest you make a visit to your local record store, it's more than worth the trip!
