Mohair have been together for seven years and with their debut album "Small Talk" out on 24th April, this is surely one of the longest awaited albums in indie-rock history. The band, formerly known as Trooper had to abandon their name at risk of offending a spandex wearing US collective, who played noisy guitars. Fortunately, they also abandoned their sound, as a Commitments tribute band, in favor of a highly entertaining brand of rock and roll. If for nothing else, Mohair's years together are proof that practice makes perfect. Accomplished song writing on "End of the line", which begins with Alex Richards' piano reminding of a damsel in distress waiting in vein for her hero, becomes an uplifting ditty full of pumping guitars and amusing lyrics. Lead singer / guitarist Tom Billington, continues to wow us with his vocal prowess on songs like the soothing "Thin Air" and the up-tempo "Little Voice". With an ever increasing legion of fans, watch out, "Small Talk" may lead to big things.
