Last year, nu-metal fans smashed their air guitars in frustration. After all, hearing that a founding member of the Lostprophets was to leave is enough to make anyone want bite a bat. This year Welsh rockers Lostprophets - the band that emerged from 90's band Public Disturbance - are back with a new album "Liberation Transmission". After drummer Mike Chiplin left in 2005 to pursue 'other musical interests' many wondered if Lostprophets' days were numbered. However, things are looking a whole lot brighter, American drummer Ilan Rubin (ex-drummer of Fenix TX) has replaced the ex-drummer and performs on their latest record to date. Produced by Bob Rock (of Metallica fame) "Liberation Transmission" was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood and Rock's Plantation Recording in Maui, Hawaii. No doubt, the bands third album will be another huge success amongst a loyal UK fan base and an ever increasing American one. Certainly, it's the perfect anecdote for those tired of formulaic indie pop.
