Leicester, England's Kasabian are currently basking in the success of their second album, Empire, which shot straight to #1 on the UK Album Charts. The band's amped-up, sharp sound earns them comparisons to the electronica/ indie rock fusion of Primal Scream, while their pumped-up cockiness puts them in the same brassy league as Oasis. Recently, they've become the unofficial soundtrack to the notoriously boisterous British soccer scene, and they bring that same ballsy vitality to their interviews and commentary. Their 2004 debut, the self-titled Kasabian made it to number 4 on the UK charts and sent the guys on a successful tour of the US. "Empire," the first single released off the album of the same name is described as "a call to arms." It cracked the UK's top 10 instantly and set the course for Kasabian to become one of the UK's hottest exports.
