Styled, hair ruffled and marketed to the max, get off Avril, there's a new Indie Rock Queen and this time she's the real deal. Pronounced "Miss Indie Rock 2005" Jenny Lewis is a former child actress who's captivating audiences in an entirely different way this time round. Accompanied by the gospel-singing raven-haired sisters Chandra and Leigh Watson, her group sings ensemble a cappella pieces and harmonies that'll raise the hairs on the back of your neck. "Rabbit Fur Coat" released by Team Love in January this year is Jenny's first self-penned solo project and with a team of alt-American stars alongside her (including Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes fame and Beck's Greg Kurstin) was recorded in under a week. Most of the songs were written between her band's busy tour in 2004 which is somehow hard to believe considering its 'deep' allegorical musings will have you longing for a trip someplace remote to find 'the' answers, man.
