Jamelia
Jamelia is an English R&B singer, songwriter and part-time model. Following a string of low-impact singles, she released her debut album, Drama in 2000. It yielded a successful single, Money, featuring backing vocals from Jamaican dancehall heavyweight, Beenie Man. The follow-up album, Thank You featured a remake of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, Superstar which rocketed up charts around the world and gave the album a boost of momentum. The title track, Thank You made it all the way to number two on the UK singles charts. In the meantime, Jamelia appeared in ad campaigns and on various magazine covers. Her third album, Walk With Me came out in 2005. It melds rock and r&b with heavy sampling and remixing, coaxed along by the creative input of rap pioneer Afrika Bambaataa.
