Produced by Gil Norton of Foo Fighters fame, "How We Operate" is Gomez's fifth studio album and its chilled vibe comes just in time for the summer. After winning the Mercury prize in 1998, the Southport quintet were heralded as saviors of British guitar pop. Unfortunately, since the media frenzy, 'to do a Gomez' has become the industry name for surpassing all expectations with a debut and failing to repeat the impossible. Saying that, Ian Ball (vocals, guitar), Paul Blackburn (bass), Tom Gray (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Ben Ottewell (vocals, guitar) and Olly Peacock (drums) may well have the last laugh with "How We Operate". Already causing a stir across the US and Australia, the record has a more cohesive and chilled sound than previous offering, and is the perfect addition to that 'summer songs' collection you've been so eager to compose, so long as the British summer has finally arrived? "I tell ya when the heat wave of the summer kicks in, sheesh, will be glad of it!".
