Taking time off from a hectic day job has proved to be incredibly productive for Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. Although lead vocalist Julian Casablancas assumes main songwriting duties for the Strokes, Hammond's contributions can be heard in some of the band's more instrumental tracks. Those songs became the foundation of his solo work, "Yours to Keep," a 10-track collection that features appearances from Sean Lennon, Ben Kweller and the Mooney Suzuki's Sammy James Jr. The album's first single "Everyone Gets A Star" was released as a download only. Hammond's immediate plans include an extended sabbatical from The Strokes to accompany Incubus on their upcoming North American tour.
