Botswana's safaris bring you up close and personal with nature’s most beautiful and most feared wildlife. Here are some tips from this week’s Botswana episode…
Giddy up. Riding an elephant is the only way to truly explore Botswana. Safari elephants are easily trained and can respond to 30 commands. Mount an elephant by holding its ear and lifting yourself onto its back.
Beware unfriendly locals. African elephants are different from Safari elephants. African elephants are wild animals and cannot be tamed. Remember this distinction and keep your distance from wild African elephants.
All leg drive transportation. In parts of Botswana, there are no roads, and the main form of transportation is airplane, or elephant. Be prepared to travel using these modes of transportation.
